I stopped by the US Open on my way to work yesterday... grabbed a cup of coffee from my favorite coffee shop (where Carissa Moore was standing in line in front of me!), and walked out to the HB pier to watch a few heats. I had perfect timing because I got there in time to watch Dane (Reynolds) catch a perfect right and land a huge air, to make it the highest scoring wave of the entire week so far. I made it down to the beach just as they were coming out of the water before the next heat, and managed to snap a polaroid of him running by. If I hadn't been so shy I would have asked him to sign it, but I chickened out. I'm hoping to make it back down there this weekend for more famous surfer sightings and more action!
